This is the 12 month size of the Katja pattern from Knitty. The yarn is Schachenmayr "Denim" although nothing about it reminds me of that fabric. It's 100% cotton and very soft, but very prone to splitting. I hope it holds up well in the wash! At any rate, this will soon be in the mail to my little niece in the Detroit area, where I hope at least a few months of warm weather remain for wearing such a breezy little top.

Easy breezy
My little travel knitting project turned out to be perfect for the car, and didn't take long to complete! I just finished the final few rows today and wove in the various ends that were hanging about. A little blast with the steam iron, and it's good to go.

Love it and the color! :)
I love it - is this for the little baby who was born last August? Who you made the Log Cabin baby blanket for? Because I am STILL admiring that baby blanket. Especially now that the MDK book is out and I'm starting to make things from it.
In going to the August 26th post, I see that you did made the blanket in Shine - using 10 balls of all different colors. Using size 4 needles. Did you use the DK weight Shine?
One more thing - does the baby still use the darling blanket? Thanks, chelle
Chelle, this little top is for a new(er) baby in the family...she's just about nine months old. I think the "Shine" for the log cabin was DK, although I no longer have the ball bands to be sure. I actually didn't know they made different weights of that yarn! As for the blanket, I've never seen it "in action," one of the pitfalls of long-distance gift giving.
Well, you just do beautiful work.
I think you must have used DK weight, because you used size 4 needles. Yeah, I didn't realize that Shine came in two different weights either until I started looking at it online tonight.
Have a Happy 4th of July. Chelle
so pretty and i love that color.
That turned out well! It looks like a green denim to me, because of the shading. Pretty color! : )
Leslie, can you please email me? I have a question about your little green/brown buttonhole bag. I need to know how you made the cute little flower on there? How did you make it and did you sew it on BEFORE felting the bag or after? Felt it separately etc. Thanks, Chelle
I love the color - I'm sure your neice will look adorable in it!
Ah! So cute! Yay for knitting baby stuff! I have kind of been eyeing this pattern, but had been afraid to take the plunge. I think you just might have inspired me to do so! Oh, and thanks so much for your comment on the MDK KAL. Geez, so many abreviations. I feel so cool.
