And here's a close-up of the lace pattern.
There were times when knitting this I wished I'd chosen a different (maybe softer) yarn. I used the recommended Reynolds Mandalay, 100% silk, and it had a fair amount of "natural material" embedded throughout. Some of those little twig-like things floated out when I hand-washed the shawl, some still remain! The silk also has a scent all its own, not overwhelming, but definitely noticeable. I'm hoping after some wearing that the scent will begin to diminish.
My mind keeps wondering what this would look like knit with Koigu KPPPM...ooh, wouldn't that be pretty? Well, maybe next time!

It's WONDERFUL. And what a cute model. :)
Seriously, you have patience!! But it turned out fabulous.
Leslie, it's fantastic! Great job!
Cozy is gorgeous, makes me want to try it now!
Leslie, it's gorgeous! Maybe I'll try it in Koigu. I've been looking for another shawl pattern to use Koigu with...thanks for the great idea!
Hi - That is really gorgeous! Great Job! I am working on the Pink Lady purse that you did! I might tear my hair out - at the point where you knit ten and cast off and then start to make the handles - it all seems like giberish to me! :0 I will work through it though!

;)
Holey cow, it's drop dead gorgeous! I'm totally impressed. Way to go. I'm so jealous of all you girls finishing stuff....
Just thought of something...why don't you trying storing it with a sachet of lavender to help with the smell? I've seen baggies of lavender blooms at some of the health food stores and groceries around....
