Stripes!

That's what's on my needles now. The infamous Noro striped scarf, in delicious shades of Noro Silk Garden. This is such a fun knit, and a nice change from the itty-bitty needles I've been using for socks and baby garments.

I started with these lovelies.

Noro Silk Garden 201
Noro Silk Garden 86
Noro Silk Garden 234

That's Silk Garden #201, #86 and #234--the very same colors Jared used. Now they look like this.

Noro striped scarf

This is just a small section of the scarf...I'm about halfway through now and will wait 'till it's all done to take more beauty shots. If you haven't knit one of these yet, give it a try. It's a relaxing knit with an awesome result!

Love the scarf!!
I grew up in Wichita, Kansas but now call Colorado home. Would you mind explaining the pattern a little more.
(for a beginning knitter :) I
am not sure how to stripe using all three balls. Any explanation would help. Thanks! Sue

aidandbren, you need to cast on 39 stitches with your main color and knit two rows (K1, P1 on the first row, then P1, K1 on row two). On the third row, start using your second color and knit two rows in the established pattern. After two rows, you'll pick up the first color (which remained attached and carried up the side) and knit another two rows. Continue until you run out of yarn, then add in another skein of your MC and the third color. Also, slip the first and last stitch of the second row each time. Hope that helps!
