Spring fever is hitting us, and though we didn't take an exotic spring break vacation, we decided a short road trip would be a fun Friday adventure. We headed to Weston, MO and wandered up and down Main St., I with my camera in hand, mostly pointing up. I love the architecture in older towns and the rooftops are often the most detailed and interesting.

On the other hand, it was the goodies in the window of the last photo that caught my eye. Vintage cameras--lots of them. Oh. My. Goodness.

The story behind the shop was even more fascinating than the cameras and photos it contained. The shop's owner--himself a photographer--is also the grandson of a once-famous celebrity photographer, Orval Hixon. Hixon was active in the Kansas City area in the early 1900s and photographed celebrities and performers who came to town with the vaudeville shows. Hixon's grandson sells prints (from 11" x 14" glass negatives!) of his grandfather's work in the shop, and there are also several local displays that I hope to check out.

P.S. If you have time to visit here, be sure to check out this spot for lunch or dinner. Delicious!

Short road trip was very exciting. Every time we had a road trip I really make it up a point to bring my camera with me. This is the only time that I can capture exotic and wonderful places. This is what I would stare every time I am so eager of a new place to go.

This looks like a town worth a day trip to. Very fun, and I love your photos - of course!
