Crazy good

Sky 005HomeNativity

So December has been a wild ride and there's no end in sight--yet. The short days have me reaching for my pjs as soon as the supper dishes are cleared away, but the to-do list keeps calling my name. The list of things not yet done is overwhelming, so it's best to focus on what IS done.

*Cards have been sent and the decorations are up
*My two hand-knit gifts are off the needles (photos to come...maybe)
*I baked a fabulous cake to share with friends
*I bought gifts from these Etsy sellers
*I have a batch of dough for these cookies waiting in the fridge (great for gifting)
*I've spent time with girlfriends, eating and laughing and just catching up

Later today our son will come home for winter break, and we will also celebrate my husband's birthday. Next week we'll travel to see family and spend Christmas together. It's wild and crazy but fabulous, too, and I remind myself to always look at the blessings in the midst of the chaos; I hope you can do the same. If I'm not back in this space again soon, I wish joy and peace for each of you as the year comes to a close!

Oh, La Bete Noir is FANTASTIC!! I love that cake. Hm. As my mother always says, "Christmas is going to come whether you're ready or not!" (Meaning, "Don't sweat it," which is totally NOT the mother I grew up with but is the one she's become.) Happy.

Merry Chrismas to you Leslie!! I also shopped Etsy and other hand-made places. So far that's been the most fun thing for me. Good luck finishing up preparations and enjoy your family!
Hope you get something you wished for as well!
