Back to real life

First finds
A little friendParadise found

I can't believe it's the end of July and summer is coming to a close! (It makes me sad just to write that down.) We are back from our vacation, tired and happy, getting back into the work routine this week. Things still feel a bit disjointed as more changes will be coming with the start of school in just three weeks. That doesn't seem possible. Neither does the fact that my daughter will be a senior this year. It hit me as I was filling out the paperwork for her diploma just a couple of days ago...this is really it!

As for me, I'm feeling like now is the time to be thinking about the second half of the year (I know, we're already into it!) and what I want to accomplish. Daily life seems to get in the way to the loftier goals. I need to find the discipline to keep my focus and make some things happen, in spite of the distractions. Do you feel that way, too? How do you work your dreams into everyday life?

P.S. I have managed to keep up with my "one a day" in July photo challenge. Just a couple more days to go. The set is here.

welcome back, i've enjoyed going on vacation vicariously through your photos!

i make time for my dreams. it's hard, and sometimes i feel like i'm too focused on the things i love to do instead of the things i should be doing... the way i see it is: life is too short to not try.

Love the ocean shots. And I'm glad we both have babies who are seniors this year ... we can share the sentiments!

This series of photos is so perfect, they really make me want a warm and restful beach vacation.

I think you're right that a person has to make time for loftier things - if we don't pushing daily life aside it can easily eat up all of our resources.

Those are wonderful beach photos. This senior year goes by really quickly. Hannah leaves for college in less than a month and I just can't believe it.

I loved the yellow shell in the first picture, and the last picture just makes me want to pack up and head to the beach!

I make lists, I swear I live by them.

I hope the vacation filled you with enough juice to get you through until the next time.

Your baby girl is a senior! I am amazed how quickly this whole 'having babies' thing has gone over here, too. sigh.

I am a very distracted person and am used to not getting things done, but I would like to be a bit more productive. We'll see.
