A walk on the wild side

Though retail is king in the 'burbs, there are still some green spaces to be found. I love driving around town this time of year and seeing a small patch of wheat ripening, or the occasional field of corn.

Wildflowers are catching my eye right now. A small plot of land just a few blocks from my home is overflowing with sweet blooms in charming shapes and colors.

It's amazing what variety can be found in a humble field. Most of these were hidden from view until I began walking through the tall grass--reminding me that exploring on foot is well worth the time spent. I wonder how much beauty we pass by in our hurried, busy lives?

Oh... I wish I could head out there for a little play! It's Winter in Sydney at the moment and I'm feeling miserable...wah...

Nice reminder to pay attention -- thanks! I love the perspective of the first photo and the color pink in the last.

Your lovely and whimsical photos remind me of the French film Amelie. Charming, evocative, and completely adorable.

So true... we have to put ourselves on a child's level so we can see the wonders again.
