This one's just right

Last night I pulled out a new pattern, a new skein of Lamb's Pride worsted, and knit up this little cutie.

It's the front side of Baby Bear by Fiber Trends. So cute already! Just about 13" tall and 13" across right now. And a very fast knit--just about three hours of TV watching (listening) got me up to the neck, and the head was added this morning. I'm now two-thirds of the way through the back side, and then we'll be ready to sew and felt. Yes, of course...it's a FELTED bear! Given my obsession with felting, what else could it be?

This pattern is very easy to follow (even though first glance might cause you to set it aside) and is fun because there's something new to do every few rows. Lots of SSK, K2Tog, M1 and W&T! I did keep very careful count of my rows as I knit, since the front and back need to match and the changes happen quickly. This would be a great pattern to use if you want to learn some new skills before trying them on a garment. Since felting will *melt* all the stitches, mistakes are almost guaranteed to disappear in the wash!

Now back to the needles...I feel baby bear will be needing a bath very soon!
