In for a penny, in for a pound

Baking is one of my favorite pasttimes, primarily because I have a sweet tooth and love to satisfy it. I'm always on the hunt for new recipes, and when I saw this one I knew I'd have to give it a try.

Before the baking
Nutella pound cake

This cake is so simple, yet brilliant--the Nutella is the perfect foil for the buttery pound cake. I normally want some type of frosting on my cakes, yet the chocolate filling more than makes up for the lack of a sugary coating on top. (Did I mention there's an entire jar of Nutella in this cake?) Be sure to have a tall glass of milk standing by before digging in. Trust me. You won't need anything more.

As the post opened up I very audibly said, "Oh no!" even thought the rest of the house is sleeping and I should be very, very quiet. I will have to make this cake. Oh, Nutella. Mixed in pound cake?! With a glass of milk?! Excuse me now, my mouth is watering...

Yes yes yes! I use Nutella in everything! It's great to swirl into brownies, pound cake (as seen above ha!) and I love it for cupcake frosting! We have kept 2 jars in our cabinets for 15 years now. (1 the kids know about, the other they don't!) Thanks for the inspiration to bake a cake today Leslie!

Well, yes I could make this cake, but only if I haven't devoured the Nutella spoonful by delicious spoonful!

I just made a flourless nutella cake yesterday(yummmmmmy). I cut the recipe in half because I didn't want to be left empty handed (it also used a whole jar of nutella). Sooo happy I did, so I can make a half recipe of this amazing looking cake (thx)! I might need to buy new clothes to fit my soon to be expanding waistline!
