A little out of control

Trying to photograph this ever-popular hat was a challenge. It was knit to fit my brother, but my daughter was the only willing model on hand. The hat is too big for her, so we didn't get the nice tight fit and pattern definition I've seen in other shots.

Getting an accurate color representation was tricky, too. The hat is probably somewhere in between the spectrum you'll see in these photos. Not a glaring orange, not muddy, somewhere in between.

There were a few distractions.

And a little silliness thrown in for good measure.

So much for the official documentation! This was a fun knit, so I guess a little fun to wrap it up was in order. I'd definitely knit this one again.

Specs: Koolhaas Hat pattern by Jared Flood; Elsebeth Lavold Angora/Wool yarn, two skeins.

It's a great hat. I love the color!

I really love the halo effect this yarn gives Koolhaas. I knitted mine in a similar orange, but just a classic wool, and it's pretty strong colorwise. This yarn really softens a strong color. Awesome! :-)

I think you took some lovely photoes of your sweet daughter - the hat looks nice on her too....

I love that hat!!!! I think that it can have so many different ways of looking, depending on which yarn and colour you use....

Color me orange with envy, Leslie! What a delightful rendition of what is quickly becoming the coolest hat in the land. What yarn did you use?

Karen, I used Elsebeth Lavold angora/wool yarn (chosen by my brother) which gives a nice halo.

Really pretty hat in that luscious color! Your daughter looks lovely and fun-loving! And you must have an amazing camera in addition to being a stellar photographer because I am just hyperventelating over your photos. They are so darn good.
